Tour description

Our walking tour combines lecture-style input with amusing anecdotes and interesting insights to offer an enjoyable and relaxed approach to the city. Join our small group orientation tour of Florence, walk on the Medici footsteps to discover the amazing Renaissance heritage of this wonderful city.

The tour will take you to the most famous sites in the city center:  Piazza Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio, the medieval heart of the town; the magnificent Duomo and the Baptistry, the most ancient religious building in Florence, in the shadow of the imposing Giotto's Bell Tower

Step inside the architectural wonder of Orsanmichele.

Situated right in the heart of the city center, Orsanmichele is one of the most beautiful buildings in Florence. During the Middle Ages it was a market, home to guilds and the storage place of grain. Over time it was transformed into a church and became the church of Florence's many guilds. Each guild has a statue of their patron saint outside.

Journey through the secret Vasari Corridor.

Experience something very few visitors to Florence even know about. Walk through the secret passageway connecting the Palazzo Vecchio to the Palazzo Pitti, crossing the River Arno via the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. The Medici has this corridor constructed so they could pass safely and unseen from the residence in Oltrarno to the government seat at the Palazzo Vecchio. Safety is no longer a problem, but there's still pleasure to be had in travelling in secret!

Cross the Ponte Vecchio to reach the Oltrarno district.

Oltrarno is a charming neighborhood full of artisan workshops. The quarter still maintains a traditional, local feel and is home to some of the finest bars and restaurants in the city. At the center of Oltrarno stands the church of Santo Spirito, designed by the same Brunelleschi who built the Duomo. Inside is what many believe to be an original crucifix scultpure by Michelangelo.
