Tour description

If you are visiting Italy you cannot miss the city of Florence, the cradle of one of the best artistic and cultural movements, the Renaissance. The city bursts with masterpieces – paintings, sculptures and buildings - from the Middle Ages through the sixteenth century.

You will have the chance to travel either by train or by private car, with a stop on your way to Florence perhaps at Orvieto or even Arezzo. The route is pleasant and relaxing: following the roads north of Rome, you will be driving through the green region of Umbria, with its gently rolling hills scattered with ancient convents and picturesque small villages to reach the unmistakable Tuscan landscape, with its red soil, its vineyards, the lines of cypress hills and fields of sunflowers.

Our local, professional guide will meet you on arrival in Florence.

Your private guide will take you on a tour of Florence's jewels and wonders. Stand in the shadow of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, also known as the Duomo,  with its impressive dome by Filippo Brunelleschi. Admire the beautiful bronze doors of the Baptistery and the decorative programme of Giotto’s Bell Tower beside it.

We then visit Piazza della Signoria, the political heart of the city.

Piazza della Signoria is one of the most beautiful squares in Florence, if not perhaps the world. Stretching forth from the imposing Palazzo Vecchio, the square is flanked by the Loggia dei Lanzi (otherwise known as the statue garden) and the flowing Fountain of Neptune. Piazza della Signoria gives you one of the most astonishing perspectives not just of the Palazzo Vecchio but also of the Uffizi Gallery, with its world-famous collection of artworks.

Meet Michelangelo's David at the Accademia or explore the wonders of the Uffizi Gallery

Your Accademia or Uffizi Gallery tour can be fully customized according to your interests, but we recommend viewing either one or the other of these incredible galleries. The Accademia is home more to statues, the most famous of which is the David and Michelangelo's other unfinished marble creations. The Uffizi is more exhaustive and contains world-renowned pieces like Botticelli's Venus and Spring, several works by Leonardo Da Vinci, and a range of paintings by Caravaggio

Take a walk along the picturesque Ponte Vecchio and browse through the many shops open on both sides; follow the footsteps of the genius of Michelangelo, who left so many masterpieces in this city.
