Tour description

Enjoy Roman-Jewish cuisine the way it’s meant to be enjoyed - prepared by hand under expert guidance. Our Jewish chef is a member of the Roman Jewish Community and is an ardent lover of Rome’s Jewish cooking. The recipes you’ll be perfecting have been passed down from generation to generation and many of them are traditionally used for a Roman Jewish Shabbat dinner. This class offers the ideal chance to discover these delicious dishes, while discussing the stories behind them.

At the heart of the class is the Jewish Ghetto's most iconic dish - fabulously gold and crispy fried artichokes known as Carciofi alla Giudia. Depending on the time of year, we might also cook up meatballs poached in a sweet, celery rich tomato sauce, or fresh pasta tossed with ragù. The ingredients used will be kosher and can be accompanied by kosher wine on request.

At the end of this unique experience, your group will dine on the food prepared in class inside our elegant 17th century dining room near the famous Piazza Navona.
