The Walks Inside Rome team
A memorable journey through the key highlights of the Papacy.
We start the day at 7.30 at the Vatican Museum: our super priority tickets allow you to step into the Sistine Chapel with almost no other people around and enjoy the view of Michelangelo's frescos in peace.
Next we leave the Vatican City and Rome heading to Castel Gandolfo, the hilltop town in the Roman countryside official summer residence of the Popes since the 16th century.
Here we will visit the Apostolic Palace including the Papal private apartments with stunning views over the gracious Albano Lake. Next we will explore the famous Barberini gardens, refined example of Italian style landscaped sculpture, on board an eco-vehicle.
Finally, we will reach the Pope's farm: the “Fattoria delle Ville Pontificie", a 55-hectare estate including stables, henhouses, orchards, gardens, citrus groves, a vineyard, spices garden, an olive grove and a dairy.
Our Chef will welcome you with antipasti and prosecco before starting a cooking class to learn how to make fresh pasta and Italian dessert. Lunch will be served with the food you have prepared and local wines.
After lunch you will have some free time in the village of Castel Gandolfo for a little shopping or maybe a coffee or a gelato at the "piazza", before be driven back to Rome.
