Tour Description
Thousands of years of Jewish history permeate every nook and cranny of the Eternal City. From the City of the Caesars to the Rome of the Popes, your semi-private Jewish evening tour through Rome offers you the opportunity to discover it all.
Your semi-private Jewish evening tour takes you and a maximum of 5 others on an unforgettable journey through Rome’s historic center. In the company of your expert Jewish guide, you’ll encounter the city’s most famous monuments: the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Campo de’ Fiori before indulging in a kosher dinner in the atmospheric Jewish Ghetto.
We start at the Spanish Steps
Meeting at the Spanish Steps, we’ll admire the tumbling balustrades and balconies of the famous Spanish Steps. One of the city’s trendiest hangout spots both for aspiring models of the past and Selfie-seekers of the present, the Spanish Steps is home to a number of curiosities: from the Fountain of the Ugly Boat and Church of Trinità dei Mont to the Sallust Gardens Obelisk.i
Passing by an ancient aqueduct, we’ll arrive at the Trevi Fountain
The short walk from the Spanish Steps to the Trevi Fountain takes you past one of the center’s best-kept secrets: the remains of the first century BCE aqueduct – the Aqua Virgo. Still feeding the flowing Trevi Fountain, we’ll catch a glimpse of it before arriving at the Spanish Steps, one of Rome’s most iconic monuments.
Out of nowhere, you’ll come face to face with the Pantheon
The Pantheon always catches its visitors off guard, emerging as if from out of nowhere as you wander Rome’s winding streets. It’s the city’s most quintessentially Roman monument, undergoing transformation from a pagan temple to a Christian church which is now the resting place of some of Italy’s most illustrious figures. After viewing it from outside, we’ll walk the short distance to Piazza Navona.
From Piazza Navona, we’ll take a short stroll to Campo de’ Fiori
Piazza Navona contains masterpieces by two of Rome’s best-known artists: Bernini and Borromini. Traces of Jewish learning through allusions to the Talmud, Midrash and Kabbalah manifest themselves in Bernini’s works, as they do in the magna opera of his great predecessor Michelangelo. But what is the Jewish connection to nearby Campo de’ Fiori? This is what you’ll find out in the last part of your walking tour.
Your evening tour ends with a kosher dinner in the Jewish Ghetto
Having explored every treasure of the Eternal City from a Jewish perspective, we’ll walk the short and scenic route to Rome’s Jewish Ghetto. Here, we can recommend somewhere for a traditional Jewish dinner showcasing the very best of la cucina ebraica or ‘Roman-Jewish cuisine.’ Buon appetito!

The golf cart has access to many places that are inaccessible to buses or cars, and the up close view of the city was without parallel.
I would highly recommend this tour. It was a highlight of our wonderful trip to Rome. read less - 6/06/2022chicago3
