This tour introduces you to the best culinary delights the region has to offer, such as extra-virgin olive oil, mozzarella, limoncello and of course the famous Neapolitan pizza margherita.

Discover the secrets of Campanian cuisine

Your culinary adventure begins in the countryside surrounding Sorrento, where we will visit the Gargiulo Olive Oil Factory and learn how this base ingredient of Italian cuisine is made. This tour of the family farm includes visiting the former mills, dating to 1849, and learning of the ancient technique of olive oil pressing. We will also indulge in a degustation of about 15 different types of extra virgin olive oil served with fresh baked bread. 

With your palate now stimulated, we will continue on to a local mozzarella farm where you will see a demonstration of the making of three classic cheeses in this region: mozzarella, ricotta, and provolone. For many, the highlight of this adventure is the tasting of these freshly made cheeses that follows the demonstration. 

Learn to make traditional Neapolitan pizza

Your private driver will then take you to a local restaurant where you will build on your newly found knowledge and use two of the main ingredients in Italian cooking as you learn to make your own classic pizza margherita or a variation of it using your favorite toppings.

Authentic Neapolitan pizzas are made with local ingredients, like extra-virgin olive oil, Mozzarella cheese, and San Marzano tomatoes which grow on the volcanic plains south of Mount Vesuvius. Once prepared, the pizza is left to cook briefly in a wood oven before you will then sit together with your group to eat your culinary masterpieces. To help aid in the digestion of your pizza, a shot of the Amalfi Coast’s famous limoncello will complete this culinary experience. 

Stroll through the centre of Sorrento

You will then have time for a leisurely stroll through the historical centre of Sorrento during which time you can choose to shop, enjoy an espresso at a local bar, or just enjoy the quaint beauty of this resort town built on the Mediterranean Sea. After this wonderful day we will drive back to your accommodation in Sorrento.
