Here in Italy, every meal starts with some ‘antipasti.’ This can be as simple as bruschetta drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil, fresh basil and ripe tomatoes or something more complex like fried zucchini flowers stuffed with mozzarella and anchovy or the Roman classic, supplì.
This private hands-on cooking class will equip you with all you need to know to make a range of delicious, traditional antipasti. But what good is a starter without the main! After mastering the art of antipasti, you’ll perfect the technique of making your own Roman-style pizza. All under the expert guidance of your English-speaking chef.
Suppli is the snack of choice in Rome. Think tomato-flavored risotto, stuffed with mozzarella, rolled in breadcrumbs and then fried. As part of this cooking class, you’ll have the chance to make some delicious suppli, bruschetta, or fried zucchini flowers. Learn how to make these Roman favorites, then take these recipes home to become the conqueror of your next dinner party.
Once you’ve created your own antipasti, your class will take you through all the steps of making classic Roman pizza. First, you must roll out and knead the dough to create the perfect base to the pizza. Next comes the more creative part where you place your favorite toppings on the pizza.
When selecting your toppings, you’ll have a huge range of fresh seasonal ingredients to choose from. Whether you want to follow tradition and choose your toppings according to the season, or youre passionate about pepperoni (though pepperoni means something different in Italian!) this is your pizza and you can craft it the way you want.
After working so hard in the kitchen, it is now time to enjoy the tasty results. Antipasti and pizza are the perfect pairing, and paired with wine, beer, or our selection of non-alcoholic drinks they make for a delicious meal to be enjoyed with friends and family. Taste your hand-made creations in our dining room as you savor this relaxing experience in the Eternal City.
