Delicious tour and cooking class
We signed up for the 'foodie' food tour and cooking class. We started off with a tour of the Campo de Fiori market, tasting some of the local goods, looking at all of the produce and beautiful colors. From there, we had some fresh cheeses (straciatella - omg, parmeson, pecorino), followed by visiting the local norcineria (beautiful cured pork products), and a popular pizza joint. We were the only 2 on the tour, which helped make it intimate yet allowed us to ask all the questions we wanted! I liked how our guide (the owner, I forgot her name!) was familiar with all of the workers and they just chatted like old friends all the time. Following that we went to their beautiful teaching kitchen, where Chef Filipo taught our class of 5 how to make tiramisu from scratch, as well as made pasta dough for ravioli and fettucine. It was an interactive class and great fun - the meal we cooked was one of our favorites in Rome. Highly recommend doing the cooking and food related tours with Walks InRome! Overall it took us around 4 hours for both activities.
