Why Choose It?
Set off on a journey through Rome’s most fascinating ancient sites on our Gladiators and Emperors walking tour for kids. Desgined to enthral, entertain, and educate your little ones, this private tour will make their experience of the Eternal City utterly unforgettable, transporting them from the Colosseum to the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, which offers stunning views over the Circus Maximus.
Best of all, you have skip-the-lines tickets for all sites so you don’t waste any time waiting around. So join us on this historical odyssey, where we’ll meet the gladiators who spilled blood on the arena sands of the Colosseum, the emperors who plotted and backstabbed their way to power in the Roman Forum, and the brave charioteers who risked life and limb for victory in the Circus Maximus. Throughout the tour, the kids will take part in a fun-filled treasure hunt. At the end, they will receive a fun, authentic Roman-themed gift!
Your Emperors and Gladiators tour starts in the Colosseum
Your expert, kids-friendly guide will bring to life the stories of the men and beasts who battled for survival in the Colosseum. Enrich yourselves with fun, relevant knowledge of the amphitheater you wouldn’t get anywhere else while our guide keeps your kids entertained with gruesome tales of the ancients.
For an additional price we can include the VIP areas of the Colosseum – the Colosseum Underground, the arena floor, and the third tier ‘Belvedere‘ – which all have limited public access. Visiting these areas will offer you a fuller immersion into the bloody history of this monument, increasing the length of your tour to four hours.
Space is very limited, so we do ask you to let us know if you have flexibility with your dates and times.
Venture along the Via Sacra and into the Roman Forum
The Roman Forum was the epicenter of life 2,000 years ago. Its temples, basilicas, meeting spaces, and speaking platforms lay at the center of the city whose empire stretched nearly 2 million square miles. Caesar was cremated here, Cicero gave speeches here, and during the tumultuous times of the late Republic, the heads of political enemies would be displayed here as a warning to others.
Your expert, kids-friendly guide will bring the monuments of the Roman Forum to life, honing in on the most interesting and engaging stories connected to each one. By the end of your adventure, you’ll be fascinated by Rome’s history and eager to go deeper exploring elsewhere in the Eternal City.
Ascend the Palatine Hill to explore the imperial palaces
The last part of your Gladiators and Emperors tour for kids takes you up the Palatine Hill, the site Romulus chose to found Rome and the cradle of the Eternal City. The numerous ancient sites and imperial palaces stretching across the Palatine Hill offer spectacular views over the Circus Maximus where chariots racers risked life and limb in the pursuit of honor and glory.
Your Gladiators and Emperors tour for kids can be customized to include other areas of ancient Rome, including the VIP access areas of the Colosseum. Get in touch with us today to check availability and introduce your kids to Rome’s remarkable history the right way.

It was a very hot summer day and she always looks for ways to give us the information under the shade before we went into the sun. I highly recommend this company and Martha as well. It was very easy to make the reservation and pay. We took the private tour and was perfect. 3 hours that feel like Half hour . We didn’t do any limes to get into the places. Know that if you go by yourself or in other yours you could be up to 2 hours under the sun to get into the coliseum or forum. I highly recommend the private tour. read less - 8/05/2022

This year we chose the Appian Way bike tour and the three pastas of Rome cooking class. Both of them were unforgettable!
First, the bike tour. I am a klutz, and the last time I was on a bike I had such a bad crash I never thought I’d do it again, but this was something my husband had wanted to do for a long time, so I nervously agreed. Our guid, Fabrizio, was amazing. He was patient with me and before long the beauty and aromas of the Via Appia Antica melted my fear. We got to experience the city I love so dearly I. A unique way, get some exercise, and learn so much about the city’s history. I absolutely recommend this experience, and we’re thankful we had Fabrizio as our guide. He was great!
That evening we got to celebrate my survival with the cooking class! Davide was our chef and he too was outstanding! Caccio e pepe, carbonara, and amatriciana are the three pastas. The class was wonderful. We were welcomed with Prosecco and a selection of cheeses, meats and olives. I’m a vegetarian but wanted to learn to make everything and was planning to just eat the caccio e pepe, but Davide grabbed some extra tomatoes and we made a pomodoro sauce that’s the best I’ve ever had just a wonderful experience! The location is beautiful, which adds to the ambience. Amazing as always, WIR! read less - 6/24/2022
