Tour description

Journey through the splendour of the Rome of the Popes on your own private tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and Saint Peter’s Basilica and Square. Your dedicated guide, an expert in their field and fluent in your language, has selected the very best of the Vatican's collection, and condensed it for you.

So you can be sure that during your time in the Vatican City you miss nothing

We start at the Vatican Museum and its astonishing collection

The Vatican Museum is home to one of the world's most collections. Among its vast collection are ancient Egyptian mummies, Greco-Roman statues, and Renaissance works of the Great Masters. The Vatican Museum's collection spans over four miles of corridors - many of which are artworks themselves. We don't have time to cover everything. But we'll make sure you visit the highlights. Marvel at the mythological Laocoon, admire the Apollo, and revel in the magnificence of the Raphael Rooms.

We then proceed into the Sistine Chapel

So famous is the Sistine Chapel that it almost needs no introduction. It still serves as the Pope's personal chapel, and you can see why spending time in silent contemplation there would be such a pleasure. The Sistine Chapel walls are adorned by frescoes of the great Florentine Masters. But they are quite literally overshadowed by the masterpiece above. Michelangelo's frescoes decorate the Sistine Chapel's ceiling, depicting Old Testament scenes as rich as meaning as they are in color

Our final stop is St. Peter's Basilica

After marvelling at the Sistine Chapel, we make our way to Saint Peter's Basilica, another masterpiece of Michelangelo who was responsible for designing the dome. Housed within this terrific structure are several world-renowned artworks. Visit Michelangelo’s Pietà and Bernini's Baldachin, while learning about the artists and the Popes who made all this beauty possible. We finish outside Saint Peter's Basilica, in Saint Peter's Square, in the center of which stands an obelisk brought to Rome by the mad emperor Caligula
