Tour description

Rome has two histories: the City of the Caesars and the City of the Popes. This tailored tour is the best way to see the most iconic monuments from both. We start at the Colosseum, a symbol of Rome's imperial might and a subsequent shrine of its Christian martyrs before exploring the Roman Forum, the public center of the ancient city. Admire it on the ground and from the Capitoline Hill, the most prominent of Rome's Seven Hills where you will enjoy one of the most spectacular views over the Forum.

We then move onto the sites of Christian Rome. Visit the charming little church of St Peter’s in Chains. Within its walls we'll meet one of Michelangelo’s most celebrated statues - the Moses. From here, we move on to the Old Appian way to see one of the Christian Catacombs. The catacombs are one of the most fascinating witnesses of early Christianity in ancient Rome: these underground burials and sites of worship of the first Christians allow you to walk back in time and are packed with fascinating ruins!!  Along the Appian way you will be able to see and feel the many traces of Ancient Rome glory.

This is a fascinating tour to discover the double entity of ancient Rome: its imperial past and its Christian.
